Navy Commander recognises veterans at “Anchorage” with honour and warmth
In a solemn and respectful event marking the National War Heroes’ Day Commemoration, the Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Kanchana Banagoda paid a visit to the naval veterans at the “Anchorage” Naval Care Centre in Welisara on 22 May 26.
During this visit, the Commander of the Navy engaged with the resident naval war veterans inquiring into their wellbeing and offering words of encouragement. Moreover, the Navy Commander instructed to adopt all possible welfare measures to caring these veterans in a gesture of the Navy’s continued gratitude and support.
The Navy Chief also commended the staff of “Anchorage” for their tireless efforts in ensuring the comfort and well-being of the resident naval war veterans.
