Revitalized accommodation unveiled for naval personnel in Northern Command

In a significant boost to accommodation for naval personnel, several newly built and modernised facilities at SLNS Uththara in the Northern Naval Command were inaugurated on 26 May 26. Vice Admiral Kanchana Banagoda, the Commander of the Navy, officially opened the facilities, with Rear Admiral Buddhika Liyanagamage, the Commander Northern Naval Area, also in attendance.

Accordingly, the renovated Senior Officer Chalets and newly constructed Woman Sailor Messes were opened by the Navy Chief. These structural enhancements were completed through the professional expertise of the Engineering Departments of the Northern Naval Command, combined with the skilled labour provided by SLNS Uththara. Following the inaugurations, the Navy Commander commended the naval personnel who contributed their expertise to bring these projects to fruition.

The Director General Policy and Planning, Director General Civil Engineering, Deputy Area Commander Northern Naval Area, along with a group of officers and sailors of the Northern Naval Command were present on these occasions.
