The U.S. Ambassador to Sri Lanka, H.E. Juli Chung visited the newly established ‘Malima Diving Club’ at the Naval Dockyard, Trincomalee on 15th July 2023. The occasion was attended by the Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera and a group of senior officers from the Eastern Naval Command.

The French Naval Ship Lorraine which arrived in Colombo on 11th July 2023 on a formal visit, departed the island today (15th July). The Navy bade customary farewell to the departing ship in accordance with naval tradition at the port of Colombo. On her departure, Lorraine also conducted a successful Passage Exercise (PASSEX) with SLNS Gajabahu.

Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera embarked on an official visit to Trincomalee-North in the Eastern Naval Command on 14th July 2023. During this visit, he focused on operational and welfare concerns in the area.

The operation of the Cafeteria of multi-functional hall, that is being constructed at the Naval Complex Welisara was commenced on 14th July 2023. At the directives of the Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera, the occasion was graced by the Chief of Staff of the Navy, Rear Admiral Jayantha Kularatne. This facility has been proposed to be constructed to offer a wide array of welfare provisions to naval personnel and with a view to hold various functions organised by the Sri Lanka Navy.

The newly appointed Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Udeni Rajapaksa called on the Commander of the Sri Lanka Navy, Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera at the Navy Headquarters today (13th July 2023).

The Deputy High Commissioner at the High Commission of India in Colombo Mr. Vinod Kurain Jacob paid a farewell courtesy call on the Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera at the Navy Headquarters today (12th July 2023).

The French Naval Ship Lorraine this morning (11th July 2023) arrived at the port of Colombo on a formal visit. The ship was welcomed by the Sri Lanka Navy in accordance with naval tradition.

A delegation from the Australian Border Force led by the Commander Joint Agency Task Force Operation Sovereign Borders of the Royal Australian Navy (RAN), Rear Admiral Justin Jones called on Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera at the Navy Headquarters in Colombo today (10th July 2023).

A Visit, Board, Search & Seizure (VBSS) Course conducted by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) successfully concluded at the Special Boat Squadron (SBS) Headquarters, Trincomalee. The certificate awarding of the course was held on 07th July 2023 under the auspices of the Programme Coordinator, Indian Ocean East Team of Global Maritime Crime Programme, Miss Siji Song.

A two-day training programme aimed at enhancing the awareness of Tri-Forces officers on the subjects of human trafficking and smuggling was successfully held in Colombo on 04th and 05th July 2023. This significant initiative was made possible through the collaboration between the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and National Anti- Human Trafficking Task Force (NAHTTF).
