The ‘Trinco Dialogue - 2022’ maritime symposium was held at the Admiral Wasantha Karannagoda Auditorium of the Naval and Maritime Academy, Trincomalee on 21st October 2022. The event was graced by the Deputy Chief of Staff of the Navy and Commander Eastern Naval Area, Rear Admiral Jayantha Kularatne, as the Chief Guest.

Rear Admiral Sujeewa Seneviratne today (21^st October 2022) relinquished naval duties to which he was committed over the past 34 years.

Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenne symbolically handed over 400 thalassemia infusion systems to the Deputy Director General (Non-Communicable Diseases) of the Ministry of Health, Dr. Champika Wickramasinghe at the Navy Headquarters on 19^th October 2022. The infusion systems were produced by the Research and Development Unit of the Navy, under Naval Social Responsibility (NSR) initiatives.

Precursor to the upcoming poppy flower campaign launched to commemorate fallen war heroes, the Vice President of Ex-Servicemen’s Association, Rear Admiral(Rtd) SR Samarathunga pinned a poppy flower on Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenne at the Navy Headquarters today (19^th October 2022).

Rear Admiral Prasad Kariyapperuma assumed duties as the Commander North Central Naval Area at the Command Headquarters today (19^th October 2022).

Sri Lanka Navy rendered assistance to conduct a community health programme and a clinic, organized by Primary Medical Care Unit (PMCU) – Mollipothana at the PMCU premises on 15th and 24th September as well as 15^th October 2022.

The inauguration ceremony of the College of Military Engineering and Technology Sri Lanka (CMETSL) was held on 13^th October 2022 at Eagle’s Lake Side, Aththidiya. The ceremony which was graced by the Secretary to the Ministry of Defence, General Kamal Gunaratne (Retd) was also attended by Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenne at the invitation of the first President of CMETSL and Director General Engineering of Sri Lanka Navy, Rear Admiral Ravi Ranasinghe.

The Offshore Patrol Vessel P 627 of Sri Lanka Navy, which set sail for her home bound journey from Seattle, United States on 03^rd September 2022, called at the Port of Manila in the Philippines on 12^th October 2022. Ambassador of Sri Lanka to the Republic of the Philippines, Mrs Shobini Gunasekera was also present on this occasion to welcome the ship.
