The Geo Information System and the website designed for the first-ever Agro Entrepreneurship model village of Sri Lanka which was constructed In view of uplifting the lifestyle of the rural community in the island, by the Ministry of Agriculture under the " Gramashakthi" project, at Kanathewewa in Haputale was launched by Hon. Minister of Agriculture Mr Mahinda Amaraweera on last 21st July, at Sri Sangaraja Piriven temple in Kanathewewa.

Sri Lanka Navy granted interest free loans worth Rs. 500,000 each to another 40 senior sailors today (26th July).

Based on information received by the Navy, a group of naval personnel attached to the Northwestern Naval Command held two suspects while smuggling over 5.7 kilograms of gold in the Uchchamuai sea area off Kimbulbokka in Kalpitiya yesterday (24^th July). The dinghy used for the smuggling attempt was also taken into naval custody.
