Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne, as the Chief Guest, graced the finals of the Inter Command Rugby Tournament 2016, held at Welisara Rugby grounds on 7th and 8th October 2016.

Naval personnel attached to Fast Attack Craft deployed in the Eastern Naval Command, arrested 14 fishermen who engaged in illegal fishing practices in the sea area off Illanthnttunu yesterday (8). Along with the suspects, 2 dinghies, 2 unauthorized nets and 2 diving fins were also taken into custody by the Navy.
