Sri Lanka Navy assisted the Sri Lanka Coast Guard to arrest six Indian fishermen along with two Indian fishing trawlers poaching in Sri Lankan waters off Kovilan Point on 23rd September 2015.

Naval personnel attached to the Eastern Naval Command arrested 18 persons on the suspicion of illegal fishing on two occasions on 21st September 2015.

Sri Lanka Navy assisted the SL Coast Guard to arrest 15 Indian fishermen along with two Indian steel fishing trawlers poaching in Sri Lankan waters in the seas North-East of Point Pedro on 21st September 2015.

On information received from the Department of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources, Sri Lanka Navy immediately dispatched a naval craft on 21st September 2015 to assist a patient onboard a fishing trawler named 'Manoch Malli 10' which was at 45 nautical miles east of Oluvil.

Sri Lanka Navy rescued an Indian trawler with three (03) Indian fishermen in distress within Sri Lankan waters, off Analativu on 20th September 2015.

The Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne, who is a President’s Scout and Lifetime Member of the Sri Lanka Queen’s & President’s Scout Guild (SLQPSG), was felicitated at the National Headquarters of the Sri Lanka Scout Association (SLSA) on 19th September 2015.

The inaugural ceremony of the national coastal cleaning programme was held under the patronage of His Excellency the President Maithripala Sirisena at the Galle Face Green on 19th September 2015.

“Ganadevi Pooja” was conducted at the Gandevi Kovil in Trincomalee naval base on 17th September 2015. A colourful procession was also held on 18th with the statue of God Ganesh being paraded through the premises of the naval base and Trincomalee town to invoke blessings.

The Inter Command Sailing Championship 2015 of the Sri Lanka Navy was held at the Bolgoda Lake on 10th and 11th September 2015.
