An Islamic religious ceremony was held in view of the Sri Lanka Navy’s 65th Anniversary at the Jummah Masjid Mosque at Chatham Street, Fort on 02nd December 2015.

Sri Lanka Navy held a Joint Christian Commemoration and Thanksgiving Service at St. Lucia’s Cathedral in Colombo on 01st December in view of its 65th anniversary under the patronage of the Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne.

The Mission Commander of the Pakistan Naval Ship “SHAMSHEER”, Commodore Bilal Abdul Nasir accompanied by the ship’s Commanding Officer, Captain Syed Rizwan Khalid paid a courtesy call on the Commander of the Sri Lanka Navy, Vice Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne at the Naval Headquarters in Colombo on 01st December 2015.

Interest-free loans worth Rs. 500,000/= each were granted to 400 senior sailors at a function held under the patronage of the Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne at the Naval Headquarters in Colombo on 01st December 2015.

The Pakistan Naval Ship "SHAMSHEER" arrived at the Port of Colombo on 30th November 2015 on a goodwill visit. The ship was ceremonially welcomed by the Sri Lanka Navy in accordance with naval traditions on its arrival.

Naval personnel attached to Naval Deployment Batticaloa of the Eastern Naval Command with the assistance of the Fisheries Inspector (Batticaloa) arrested ten persons along with 4 Fiber Glass Dinghies and 4 illegal fishing nets (Surukku nets) in the general area Punnaikudah in Batticaloa on 28th November 2015.

Sri Lanka Navy assisted the Sri Lanka Coast Guard to arrest eight Indian fishermen along with two Indian fishing trawlers poaching in Sri Lankan waters near the Delft Island on 29th November 2015.

Two Japanese naval ships, "Akizuki" and "Sawagiri", arrived at the Port of Colombo on a goodwill and replenishment visit on 27th November 2015.

The Netherland Ambassador Her Excellency Mrs. Joanne Doornewaard called on the Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne at the Naval Headquarters on 26th November 2015.

The Staff Officer (Training Policy) of the Royal Navy of Oman, Commander Ali bin Sulaiman bin Abdullah Al Rawahi paid a courtesy call on the Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne at the Naval Headquarters on 26th November 2015.
