The third annual memorial oration of the late General Deshamannya Denis Perera, which was organized by the Association of Retired Flag Rank Officers (ARFRO), was conducted at the Kotelawala Defence University on 11th August 2015

The Defence Advisor of the Bangladesh High Commission in Sri Lanka, Commodore S Aslam Parvez, the Defence Attache of the Embassy of United States of America, Lieutenant Colonel Robert Ross and the Military, Air and Naval Attaché of the Embassy of Russian Federation Colonel Dmitry A. Mikhaylovskiy called on the Commander of the Navy Vice Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne to pay their courtesies at the Naval Headquarters in Colombo on 10th August 2015.

Chulananda Perera, Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Public Order and Christian Affairs, whilst presenting a lecture on “Good Public Administration” at the Admiral Somathilaka Dissanayake Auditorium of SLNS Parakrama in Colombo on 10th August 2015.

Navy Sea Horses emerged Cup Champions beating Army Dragons 36-0 in the Segment II of the Dialog Inter Club Rugby 7’s tournament worked off at the Race Course Grounds in Colombo on 10th August 2015.

A group comprising of fifteen retired Navy ruggerites of the 1980s called on the Commander of the Navy Vice Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne at the Naval Headquarters on 07th August 2015 to convey their best wishes.

Two Japanese naval ships, "Ikazuchi" and "Murasame", arrived at the Port of Colombo on a goodwill and supply visit on 07th August 2015. They were welcomed by the Sri Lanka Navy in accordance with naval traditions on arrival.

Rear Admiral Samantha Wimalathunge has been appointed as the new Director General of the Sri Lanka Coast Guard with effect from 11th July 2015. His Letter of Appointment was handed over to him by the Commander of the Navy Vice Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne at the Naval Headquarters on 06th August 2015.

Sri Lanka Navy internal numbering plan was changed from four digits to five digits in two phases: phase one covering Western, Southern and South Eastern Naval Areas on 20th July 2015 and phase two covering Eastern, Northern, North Western and North Central Naval areas on 27th July 2015.

Navy A Team emerged Bowl Champions beating Army A Team 29-7 in the Dialog Inter Club Rugby 7’s tournament worked off at the Race Course Grounds in Colombo on 01st and 02nd August 2015.

The Naval and Maritime Academy commemorated its personnel, who sacrificed their lives during the enemy artillery attack on the troops carrying naval ship "Jet Liner', which was entering Trincomalee harbor on 01st August 2006.
