A coordinated search operation conducted by the Sri Lanka Navy and the Police Narcotic Bureau (PNB) near the Salgadu Stadium in Anuradhapura on 04 Aug 25 led to the arrest of 02 suspects in possession of approx. 29kg and 901g of Kerala cannabis. The operation also resulted in the seizure of a car used to smuggle narcotics.

During an operation conducted in the dark hours of 05 Aug 25, the Sri Lanka Navy seized 01 Indian fishing boat and apprehended 10 Indian fishermen while they were poaching in Sri Lankan waters, off the Baththalangunduwa Island in Kalpitiya

A search operation conducted by the Navy near the Aliyaveli lagoon of Kadeikadu, Jaffna on 04 Aug 25 resulted in the seizure of about 102kg and 350g (wet weight) of Kerala cannabis.

The Sri Lanka Navy seized an Indian fishing boat (01) and apprehended four (04) Indian fishermen, while they were poaching in Sri Lankan waters off the Delft Island, Jaffna in the dark hours of 03 Aug 25.

In separate operations conducted by the Navy in coordination with the Department of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources from 23 to 31 Jul 25, twenty-two (22) individuals involved in various illegal fishing activities were apprehended along with 05 dinghies in multiple locations across the island. Additionally, 01 person with 210 unauthorized fishing nets were nabbed during another operation conducted with the Police.

A search operation conducted by the Navy on 29 Jul 25 led to the seizure of a dinghy with a consignment of Kendu leaves, attempted to be smuggled, approx. 583kg, at the Negombo Fisheries Harbour.

A search operation conducted by the Navy in the Arippu area of Silawathura in the early hours of 29 Jul 25 resulted in the seizure of about 101kg and 600g (wet weight) of cannabis.

The Sri Lanka Navy, during separate search operations in the coastal areas of Kuttiduwa and Kudapaduwa in Negombo on 29 Jul 25, took hold of over 1285kg of smuggled Kendu leaves, more than 604kg of dried ginger and a box of medicinal tubes. The operations also led to the seizure of 02 dinghies used for the act of smuggling.

During operations conducted on 28 Jul 25, the Sri Lanka Navy seized 02 Indian fishing boats and apprehended 14 Indian fishermen, while they were poaching in Sri Lankan waters of Baththalangunduwa and north of Mannar.

In separate operations conducted by the Navy from 09 to 22 Jul 25, sixty - five (65) individuals involved in various illegal fishing activities were apprehended in multiple locations across the island. The operations also made way for the seizure of 16 dinghies employed for these illegal practices.
