Navy assists to salvage the run- aground Indian fishing trawler

The Sri Lanka Navy rendered assistance to an Indian Salvage Team, which consisted of three boats and a 14-member crew that had come to salvage the fishing trawler, which had run aground south of Delft due to an engine defect during rough sea conditions on 03rd October 2013. The crew of the run -aground fishing trawler was repatriated on 19th November 2013.

The salvaged fishing trawler was handed over to Indian Coast Guard Ship ‘Rajtarang’ at the International Maritime Boundary Line off Delft on 16th February 2014 by Sri Lanka Naval Ship ‘Prathapa’ attached to the Northern Naval Command.
