Navy arrests 15 persons with Illegal Fishing Gears

Naval troops attached to the North Western Naval Command on information received arrested 15 persons and 5 FGDs engaged in illegal fishing on 03^rd March 2014. They had been fishing using prohibited fishing gears in the general area of Uchchamunai.

The arrested persons with the FGDs and illegal fishing gears were handed over to the Assistant Director of the Department of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources in Puttalam for further investigations.
