Naval Troops arrest 20 Fisherman engaged in Illegal Fishing

Naval troops attached to ND Nayaru of the Eastern Naval Command on information received arrested 20 fishermen along with 06 FGD’s engaged in illegal fishing on 07^th May 2014. They had been fishing using prohibited fishing gear in the seas off Kokkuthuduwai.

The arrested fishermen with the FGD’s and the illegal fishing gear were handed over to the Assistant Fisheries Director in Mullaitivu for further investigations.
