Navy arrests 18 fishermen engaged in illegal fishing

Naval troops attached to Naval Deployment Nayaru of the Eastern Naval Command arrested 18 fishermen and 04 FGDs engaged in illegal fishing using prohibited fishing gears 04 NM East of Kukkuthuduwai, Mullativu on 04^th June 2014.

The arrested persons with items were handed over to the Assistant Director Fisheries in Mullativu for further investigations.
