Navy rescues 02 Fishermen stranded in the Western Seas
 

Naval patrol craft P 474 attached to the Western Naval Command rescued 02 fishermen stranded in the rough seas off Bambalapitiya due to prevailing bad weather condition on 22^nd August 2014. The Fishing Boat had become non-operational due to an engine defect.

The Navy was informed of the incident by the Disaster Management Center. Accordingly under the direction of Naval Headquarters, the Western Naval Command   dispatched P 474 to the rescue mission.
