Naval troops arrest 04 persons with 83 kilograms of Sambur meat
 
 

Naval personnel attached to SLNS Vijaya of the North Western Naval Command on information received arrested 04 persons with 83 kilograms of Sambur meat at Nadukuda in the Wellamundalama area of Wilpattu close to midnight on 17^th September 2014.

The meat had been made ready to be transported by sea to Sethawadiya in Kalpitiya from the Wilpattu National Park. A 12-bore shotgun, 07 shotgun cartridges, 06 knives, an axe and 02 electric touches were also taken into custody from their possession.

The arrested persons and the items were handed over to Kalpitiya Police for further investigations.
