Navy personnel arrest a person with explosives intended for illegal fishing

Naval personnel attached to SLNS Kashyapa of the Eastern Naval Command on information arrested a person with intended to be used in illegal fishing in the Valachchenai area on 11^th October 2014.

The recovered items included 25 plastic tubes containing Gelignite gel (approximate in 3.5 kilogram), 1.5 feet of safety fuse and 05 non-electrical detonators.

The arrested person and the explosive were handed over to Valachchenai Police for further investigations.
