Navy arrests 38 fishermen with 06 FGDs engaged in illegal fishing
 

Naval patrol craft attached to the Eastern Naval Command arrested 18 persons with 3 FGDs, 03 pairs of diving flippers, 04 diving masks, 03 snorkels and 03 purse-seine nets intended to be used in illegal fishing in the seas off Kallarawa in Pulmudai on 25th February 2015.

Meanwhile, another 20 persons with 03 FGDs engaged in illegal fishing using purse-seine nets also were arrested in the seas off Nilaweli and Kevuliya point on 26th February 2015.

The arrested persons with the items were handed over to the Kuchchaweli Police and Trincomalee Harbor Police for further action.
