Navy arrests 06 persons with 02 FGDs engaged in illegal fishing
 

Naval personnel attached to Naval Deployment Batticaloa of the Eastern Naval Command with the assistance of the Fisheries Inspector (Batticaloa) arrested 06 persons with 02 FGDs engaged in illegal fishing in the general area of Punnakudah in Eraur on 19th March 2015. They were arrested by Naval personnel on the suspicion of using light course for fishing since there had been two large batteries, 08 CFL bulbs and two fishing nets were in their possession at the time of arrest.

The arrested persons with the items were handed over to the Assistant Fisheries Director (Batticaloa) for legal action.
