SLN arrests 54 Indian fishermen poaching in Sri Lankan waters
 

Naval patrol craft attached to the Northern and North Central Naval Commands arrested 54 Indian fishermen along with 10 Indian fishing boats poaching well inside Sri Lankan waters on 21st March 2015.

Twenty one Indian fishermen along with 05 boats and 33 fishermen along with 5 boats were taken into naval custody in the seas off Kankasanthurai and Thalaimannar respectively.

The arrested Indian fishermen along with their boats were handed over to fisheries officials in Kankasanthurai and the Talaimannar for onward action.
