Navy arrests 17 fishermen with 03 FGDs engaged in illegal fishing
 

Naval personnel attached to the North Central Naval Command arrested 17 persons with 3 FGDs, 17 pairs of diving fins, 17 goggles and 03 fishing nets (surukku) intended to be used in illegal fishing in the seas off Vankalai on 23^rd March 2015.

The arrested persons with the items along with 200kg of illegally caught fish catch were handed over to the officials of the Department of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (Mannar) for legal action.
