Navy arrests 08 fishermen engaged in illegal fishing
 

Naval personnel attached to SLNS Vijaya of the North Western Naval Command arrested 08 persons with 03 FGDs and a Theppam (local fishing craft) on the suspicion of their engagement in fishing using 03 illegal fishing nets in the general area of Uchchamunai on 17^th June 2015.

The arrested persons with their nets, FGDs and the Theppam were handed over to the Assistant Fisheries Inspector (Puttalam) for onward action.
