Initiating yet another concept of the President of the Navy Seva Vanitha Unit (NSVU), Mrs. Yamuna Wijegunaratne, a rare opportunity was given for the spouses of senior sailors to follow a beauty culture course sponsored by the NSVU.

A dairy cow destined to be slaughtered was saved and released to the cattle shed at SLNS Gemunu, yesterday (June 2).

Senior officers of the People's Liberation Army Navy (PLA Navy) ships, “Chang Chun”, “Jing Zhou” and “Chao Hu”, which arrived in Sri Lanka on goodwill as well as a relief mission for the flood victims yesterday (31), made a visit at the Seva Vanitha preschool at the naval base SLNS Gemunu, Welisara today (1).

Following the directives and guidance of the President of the Navy Seva Vanitha Unit (NSVU), Mrs. Yamuna Wijegunaratne, its members executed a timely initiative in view of providing relief to the people hard hit by floods and mudslides due to adverse weather prevailed in the country.

As per the guidance of the President of the Navy Seva Vanitha Unit (NSVU), Mrs. Yamuna Wijegunaratne a special bus service was on the run on Vesak full moon poya day (10) facilitating the naval personnel to enjoy Vesak celebrations in town.

A ‘Sago Dansal’ organized to coincide with the Vesak full moon poya day, by the Navy Seva Vanitha Unit (NSVU) under the guidance of its President Mrs. Yamuna Wijegunaratne was opened last evening (10) by the NSVU President.

Following a concept of the President of the Navy Seva Vanitha Unit (NSVU), Mrs. Yamuna Wijegunaratne, a ‘Seva Vanitha Bakery’ which has been constructed at SLNS Gemunu in Welisara, was declared open by the Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne today (8).

The Members of Navy Seva Vanitha Unit (NSVU), on the directives and guidance of the President of the Navy Seva Vanitha Unit, Mrs. Yamuna Wijegunaratne today (21) rendered assistance to the people who were displaced following the collapse of garbage dump in Meethotamulla.

The New Year Trade Fair, organized under the patronage of the President of the Navy Seva Vanitha Unit (NSVU), Mrs. Yamuna Wijegunaratne, was held on a grand note at SLNS Parakrama today (8).
