The 8th Canoe Sprint National Championship, organized by the National Association for Canoeing and Kayaking in Sri Lanka (NACKSL), culminated in Jaffna, offering a novel experience. For the first time, the events took place in the captivating waters off Jaffna Fort from 14th to 16th September 2024. When the Sri Lanka Army clinched the championship, the Sri Lanka Navy secured the runner up title.

The Inter-Command Squash Tournament took place at the squash court in the Eastern Naval Command from 09th to 14th September 2024. The Afloat Command emerged victorious in the men's category, while the Western Naval Command claimed the women's championship.

The 13th Defence Services Games was officially declared open at the Indoor Sports Stadium of Panagoda Army camp on 12th September 2024. The glittering ceremony was also attended by the Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera.

Players from the Sri Lanka Navy Sailing Pool secured many wins at Bart's Bash – 2024 sailing event, held in the alluring waters of Bolgoda Lake on 08th September 2024.

The ‘Commandant’s Cup Sailing Regatta - 2024’ organized for the fourth time by the Naval and Maritime Academy (NMA), Trincomalee concluded on a successful note today (21st August 2024). Commenced on 18th August, the Sailing Regatta was held in the alluring waters of Sandy Bay over four days. At the invitation of Commandant NMA, Commodore Rohan Joseph the prize awarding ceremony of the competition, held at Sandy Bay, was graced by Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera.

The Navy secured the runner up title in Negombo International Rating Chess Championship 2024. The international rating chess championship hosted for the eighth time by the District Chess Association – Gampaha, was held at the Wet Water Resort, Ja-Ela from 15th to 19th August 2024.

The Sri Lanka Sports Fiesta Colombo 2024, organised by the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs, saw the conduct of Mini Football Championship from 16th to 18th at the Race Course Ground, Colombo where the Sri Lanka Navy women’s team emerged as the runner-up.

The Sri Lanka Navy men’s and women’s rugby teams delivered stellar performances in the Air Force Commander’s Cup Rugby Tournament, held at the Race Course Ground, Colombo, on the 16th and 18th August 2024.

The ‘Commandant’s Cup Sailing Regatta - 2024’ organized for the fourth time by the Naval and Maritime Academy (NMA), Trincomalee commenced at the Commander Shanthi Bahar Memorial Sailing Club on 18th August 2024. At the invitation of Commandant NMA, Commodore Rohan Joseph, the opening ceremony was graced by Commander Eastern Naval Area, Rear Admiral Kanchana Banagoda, as the Chief Guest.

Leading Seaman SMASM of the Sri Lanka Navy showcased his talent by securing a bronze medal in the men’s 400 meters event in the 4th Asian Para Games held in Hangzhou, China on 28th October 2023. Inviting him to the Navy Headquarters today (12th August 2024), the Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera appreciated his achievement and awarded the athlete with a cash prize.
