Afloat Command and Training Command dominate Inter-Command Tug of War Championship

The Inter-Command Tug of War Championship - 2026 concluded successfully at SLNS Pandukabhaya on 1 and 2 August 2026, with Afloat Command claiming the men's title and Training Command securing the women's championship.

The two-day tournament featured 14 teams representing Naval Commands. In the men's final, Afloat Command defeated Western Command to emerge champions. In the women's final, Training Command overcame North Central Command to win the championship.

The awards ceremony was graced by the Commander North Central Naval Area, Rear Admiral Indika De Silva. The Chairman of the Sri Lanka Navy Tug of War, Commodore Darshana Amarakoon, along with a gathering of naval officers and sailors were also present.
