Navy marksmen shine as Inter-Command Musketry Championship concludes

Western Naval Command emerged victorious in the men’s pistol and rifle events, while Southern Naval Command secured the women’s title at the Inter-Command Musketry Championship, held at SLNS Shiksha firing range from 2 to 24 October.

A total of 120 marksmen and markswomen representing all Naval Commands took part in the tournament. Ordinary Infantryman HRSD Seneviratne of Northern Central Naval Command was named the Best Marksman across the overall pistol and rifle stages. Meanwhile, Women Able Seaman HMTN Herath of Southern Naval Command won the trophy for Best Markswoman in tournament.

The awards ceremony was graced by Director General Civil Engineering, Rear Admiral Ravi Gunasinghe and Chairman of the Sri Lanka Navy Musketry, Rear Admiral Achala De Silva, alongside a group of naval personnel.
