Training Command sweeps titles at Inter-Command Triathlon Championship 2026

Training Command won both the men’s and women’s titles at the Inter-Command Triathlon Championship 2026, held at the Naval Dockyard and Sandy Bay beach area in Trincomalee on 26 September 2026.

Commander Eastern Naval Area, Rear Admiral Haritha Jayadewa presided over as chief guest the annual competition, which drew 89 athletes representing all Naval Commands.

Training Command dominated the men’s open category, securing all top three individual positions. Able Diver SPKN Maduranga won first place, followed by Leading Diver PRSI Bandara in second, and Able Diver WMSL Wijesinghe in third. Petty Officer WMIK Wijesundara of Training Command took first place in the men’s over-40 category.

Training Command athletes also swept the women’s individual events. Woman Able Physical Training Instructor EMAGLB Edirisinghe secured first place, while Woman Physical Training Instructor DSM Nissanka and Woman Recruit PHTT Thilakarathne finished second and third respectively.
