Navy hosts officers’ get-together at Wave n’ Lake Navy Hall for 73rd Anniversary
The officers’ get-together of Sri Lanka Navy was held on a colourful note at the Wave n' Lake Navy Hall on 30th December 2023. The officers’ get-together was yet another segment of a wide-ranging programmes organised by the Sri Lanka Navy in compliance with naval traditions, to mark its 73rd Anniversary. At the invitation of the Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera and the President of the Navy Seva Vanitha Unit, Mrs Mala Lamahewa the occasion was graced by the Defence Secretary, General Kamal Gunaratne (Retd) along with his spouse, Admiral of the Fleet Wasantha Karannagoda, former Navy Commanders and a group of distinguished guests.

A special religious programme at Kelaniya Raja Maha Viharaya showers blessings on 73rd Anniversary of the Navy
As part of the sequence of religious programmes held in view of the 73rd Anniversary of the Sri Lanka Navy, a spiritual event was conducted at the Kelaniya Raja Maha Viharaya on 29th December 2023, with the attendance of Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera and the President of Navy Seva Vanitha Unit, Mrs. Mala Lamahewa.

Twenty nine (29) Direct Entry officers pass out at Naval and Maritime Academy
A colourful ceremony saw the passing out of 29 Direct Entry officers of the 1/ 2022 intake of Volunteer Naval Force at the main parade ground of Naval and Maritime Academy (NMA) in Trincomalee today (29th December 2023). At the invitation of Commandant NMA, Commodore Buddhika Liyanagamage, the event was graced by Commander Eastern Naval Area, Rear Admiral Suresh De Silva, as the Chief Guest.

Series of blood donation campaigns held in view of 73rd Anniversary of the Navy
The Sri Lanka Navy celebrated its 73rd Anniversary, giving pride and place to social responsibility initiatives and religious programmes. In an extension of these efforts, the Navy organized blood donation drives from 01st to 28th December 2023, spanning all Naval Commands.

Navy conveys festive greetings through Christmas Carols
In a symphony of festive splendour, Sri Lanka Navy Christian Council, in collaboration with the Navy Seva Vanitha Unit and the Navy Band, orchestrated the Navy Christmas Carols 2023 at the Wave n' Lake Navy Hall, Welisara, on the 22nd of December 2023, under the theme "Silent Christmas, Silent Navy". At the invitation of the Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera, the event was held under the patronage of the Secretary of Defence, General Kamal Gunaratne (Retd) and his spouse, as the Chief Guests. In addition the occasion was dignified with the presence of invited guests including the Chief of Defence Staff, General Shavendra Silva and his spouse, as well as the Commander of the Air Force Air Marshal Udeni Rajapaksa and his spouse.

KRI DIPONEGORO- 365 departs island
The Indonesian Naval Ship KRI DIPONEGORO- 365 which made a port call in Colombo on 21st December 2023, departed the island today (23rd December) on successful completion of her visit. The Sri Lanka Navy bade customary farewell to the departing ship in compliance with time-honored naval traditions, at the port of Colombo.

Navy provides medical-grade Reverse Osmosis (RO) plant to Walasmulla Base Hospital
As part of the Naval Social Responsibility (NSR) initiatives, a medical-grade Reverse Osmosis (RO) plant was declared open at the Walasmulla Base Hospital on 22nd December 2023. The event was held under the patronage of the Commander Southern Naval Area, Rear Admiral Chinthaka Kumarasinghe.
