Hope flows in Anuradhapura with 02 new RO plants
The Navy's Research and Development Unit, in partnership with the Naval Social Responsibility Project and funded by the Presidential Secretariat, is leading a project to install 31 Reverse Osmosis (RO) plants across the Anuradhapura district. On 05th December 2024, two more RO plants were inaugurated at Gammahegewewa Sri Bodhirukkarama Temple in Horowpathana and Arunagama Sri Shailathalarama Temple in Padaviya.

Navy conducts dental clinics in Matara
The Navy's Dental Services, in collaboration with the Navy Seva Vanitha Unit and Good Neighbours Foundation (Guarantee) Limited, successfully conducted the second phase of a dental care initiative in Thalahitiyagoda and Devalegama, Matara, on 02nd and 03rd December 2024. The President of the Navy Seva Vanitha Unit, Mrs. Mala Lamahewa, attended the events, witnessing their impactful execution.

Four (04) more RO plants declared open in Anuradhapura district
Funded by the Presidential Secretariat, the Navy's Research and Development Unit, in collaboration with the Naval Social Responsibility Project, is spearheading a special initiative to install 31 Reverse Osmosis (RO) plants across 31 locations in the Anuradhapura district. As part of this, 04 more RO plants were declared open on 04th December 2024 at Janasirigama in Galenbindunuwewa Divisional Secretariat, Hinguruwewagama, Thakshila Maha Vidyalaya of 21 Colony West and Mahagaswewa Maha Vidyalaya.

The Dental Services of the Navy, Seva Vanitha Unit and Good Neighbours Foundation (Guarantee) Limited joined hands to conduct mobile dental services in Karuwalagaswewa and Rotawewa on 25th and 26th November 2024.

Navy to install 31 RO plants in Anuradhapura district
The Sri Lanka Navy declared open three Reverse Osmosis (RO) plants on 03rd December 2024, bringing clean drinking water to key locations in the Anuradhapura District. The newly installed plants are located at Nachchaduwa Muslim Maha Vidyalaya, Palugollewa Preschool under the Nuwaragam Palatha (Central) Divisional Secretariat, and Randuwa Fishermen's Union Hall in Mahavilachchiya Divisional Secretariat. This initiative is part of a broader project to install 31 RO plants across 31 locations in the district. The project is spearheaded by the Navy's Research and Development Unit with financial support from the Presidential Secretariat.

ROR, Rigging, Semaphore and Flashing Competition comes to successful end
The Rules of the Road (ROR), Rigging, Semaphore and Flashing Competition, organized by the Naval Fleet Command, was held at the Admiral Wasantha Karannagoda Auditorium of Naval and Maritime Academy on 30th November 2024. The event was graced by Deputy Chief of Staff and Commander Eastern Naval Area, Rear Admiral Damian Fernando. The event was organized with a view to honing the professionalism of naval personnel serving in ships and craft of the Navy.

Hindu Puja invokes blessings on Navy’s 74th Anniversary
A special Puja of Hindu tradition was conducted on 02nd December 2024 at the Sri Ponnambalawaneswarar Kovil in Colombo, seeking blessings for the upcoming 74th Anniversary of the Sri Lanka Navy, slated for the 09th of December.

MCPO PRMGB Pussalamankada appointed as Master Chief Petty Officer of the Navy
Master Chief Petty Officer PRMGB Pussalamankada was appointed to the position of Master Chief Petty Officer of the Navy (MCPON) effective from 29th November 2024. Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera congratulated the senior sailor and handed over the arm band and baton, symbolic of the position to him at the Navy Headquarters.
