Sri Lanka Navy held a Joint Christian Commemoration & Thanksgiving Service at St. Lucia’s Cathedral in Colombo on 24th November 2014 in view of its 64th anniversary.

The enshrining of the sacred relics in the Sanda-hiru Seya took place on 23rd November 2014 under the patronage of His Excellency the President Mahinda Rajapaksa amidst the blessings of the Maha Sangha.

Russian naval ship “Yaroslav Mudriy”, arrived at the Port of Colombo on a goodwill visit on 24th November 2014.

The North Western Naval Command conducted two field health clinics at the Roman Catholic Tamil mixed school in Kayakkuli and the Sebestian Catholic Church, Gangaewadiya on 22nd and 23rd November 2014.

The Sri Lanka Navy’s body builder Able Seaman SP Siriwardane representing the 65kg weight class won the bronze medal at the 68th IFBB Men’s World Amateur Body Building Championship 2014 held in Brazil defeating reputed international body builders from 81 countries.

An all night Pirith chanting ceremony was held in view of the 64th anniversary under the patronage of Commander of the Sri Lanka Navy, Vice Admiral Jayantha Perera at SLNS Gemunu in Welisara on 19th November 2014.

The Certificate Awarding Ceremony of the 15th Sub Lieutenant Technical (Executive) Course was held at the Admiral Wasantha Karannagoda Auditorium of the Naval & Maritime Academy in Trincomalee on 14th November 2014.

Former Navy Commander and Sri Lanka’s Ambassador to Japan His Excellency Admiral (retd) Wasantha Karannagoda launched his memoirs on the 4th Eelam War titled “Adhishtanaya” (Defeat of the LTTE: Role of the Navy) at the Nelum Pokuna - Mahinda Rajapaksa Theatre on 17th November 2014.

The Certificate Awarding Ceremony of the 13th Junior Naval Staff Course (JNSC) was held at the Admiral Wasantha Karannagoda Auditorium in Trincomalee on 15th November 2014.

As part of the Sri Lanka Navy’s community development and social responsibility project, the North Western Naval Command conducted a field health clinic at the Roman Catholic Tamil Mixed School in Mannar on 16th November 2014.
