Playground stage renovated by Navy unveiled at Talaimannar Pier Vidyalayam
Commander North Central Naval Area, Rear Admiral Damian Fernando declared open a renovated playground stage at Talaimannar Pier Vidyalayam, Mannar today (12th August 2024). The Navy mustered its manpower and industrial expertise to renovate the stage, which was in dilapidated condition.

Navy’s Military Working Dog Unit receives 02 Belgian Malinois puppies
Captain Erald Dharmarathna (Master Mariner) donated two Belgian Malinois puppies, along with essential equipment, to the Sri Lanka Navy's Military Working Dog (MWD) unit on 09th August 2024. This substantial contribution was formally received by Acting Commandant Naval Infantry, Commodore Sanath Pitigala, marking a significant enhancement in the operational capabilities of the Navy’s (MWD) unit.

Navy upholds longstanding traditional service for St. Anne's National Shrine feast
The annual feast of St. Anne's National Shrine in Thalawila, Kalpitiya, was celebrated with great success on 04th August 2024, drawing a large number of devotees. The special service was conducted by the Bishop of Chilaw, Rt. Rev. Don Wimal Sri Jayasooriya. Maintaining the longstanding tradition, the Sri Lanka Navy rendered assistance for the successful conduct of the proceedings of celebrations.

Submarine INS Shalki departs island
The Indian Navy submarine INS Shalki which arrived in Colombo on 02nd August 2024, departed the island today (04th August), on successful completion of its formal visit. The Sri Lanka Navy bade customary farewell to the departing submarine at the port of Colombo.
