Upon receipt of information to the Navy, naval personnel attached to the South Eastern Naval Command in coordination with the Special Task Force carried out a joint raid yesterday (26) and apprehended 2 suspects with 8 kg of cannabis in the general area of Thanamalwila.

Three more Reverse Osmosis plants declared open
As part of a wide range of community service projects being implemented by the Navy under the able leadership of the Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne, three more Reverse Osmosis (RO) plants were declared open at Thalawegama Vidyalaya in Mahiyangana and two Naval Bases; SLNS Gajaba and SLNS Buwaneka in Mannar yesterday (25).

Navy arrests 12 Indian poachers in Lankan waters
The naval personnel onboard a Fast Attack Craft in the Northern Naval Command together with Sri Lanka Coast Guard arrested 12 Indian fishermen along with 2 fishing trawlers poaching in the Sri Lankan waters Northwest of Delft Island yesterday (25).
