Naval personnel attached to SLNS Ruhuna located in Tangalle belonging to the Southern Naval Command, in coordination with Tangalle Police, arrested a fisherman with 3 unauthorised fishing nets during a raid carried out in Nakulugamuwa area yesterday (29).

A person is apprehended with prescription drugs in his possession
On receipt of intelligence tip-off, naval personnel attached to SLNS Kelani located in Uswetakeiyawa in the Western Naval Command, along with the officials of Drugs and Food Interactions Board and Gampaha Police apprehended a suspect with 10 boxes of prescription drugs (Tramadol) in his possession, in Seeduwa area yesterday (29).

A Reverse Osmosis plant is declared open in Eppawala
Implementing yet another community service programme of the Sri Lanka Navy, a Reverse Osmosis (RO) plant was installed in the school premises of Sri Siddhartha Central College in Eppawala, Anuradhapura, considering the intolerable levels of hardship faced by the students of the school and residents in the area. Accordingly the newly installed RO system was declared open by Commander North Central Naval Area, Commodore Merril Wickramasinghe today (26).
