யாழ்ப்பாணம் மாமுனை பகுதியில் இன்று (2025 ஜூலை 04) அதிகாலை இலங்கை கடற்படை, காவல்துறையுடன் இணைந்து, நடத்தப்பட்ட சிறப்பு கூட்டு தேடுதல் நடவடிக்கையின் போது, சுமார் ரூ. 16 மில்லியனுக்கும் அதிகமான தெரு மதிப்புள்ள எழுபத்தொரு (71) கிலோகிராம் நானூறு (400) கிராம் கேரள கஞ்சாவானது பறிமுதல் செய்யப்பட்டது.

A coordinated search operation mounted by the Sri Lanka Coast Guard, the Navy and Police Narcotic Bureau led to the seizure of over 900kg of Kerala cannabis in Bolawatta area in Wennappuwa on 02 Jul 25. The operation also led to the interception of a car in connection to the smuggling racket and a cab in which 02 foreign-made pistols, 04 magazines and 40 rounds of ammunition were found.
