The Navy Officers’ Children’s Club which was established according to a concept of the President of Navy Seva Vanitha Unit (NSVU), Mrs Yamuna Wijegunaratne, held a friendly game of Cricket at the Sports grounds of Naval Base Welisara yesterday (3).

Two Holiday Bungalows dedicated for naval personnel wounded in action were declared open by the Commander of the Navy Vice Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne on the invitation of the President Sri Lanka Navy Seva Vanitha Unit Madam Yamuna Wijegunaratne in Diyathalawa on Saturday (30th July).

Going by yet another concept of the President of Navy Seva Vanitha Unit (NSVU), Mrs. Yamuna Wijegunaratne, the NSVU initiated a timely programme to look into the amenities of its members.

A ceremony of uniform distribution for the women sailors who work at Naval Pre-schools and Beauty Parlours in SLNS Gemunu, SLNS Tissa and SLNS Dakshina, came about under the patronage of the President of Navy Seva Vanitha Unit (NSVU), Mrs Yamuna Wijegunaratne at the Admiral Somathilaka Dissanayake Auditorium in SLNS Parakrama today (20).

The President of Navy Seva Vanitha Unit (NSVU) Mrs. Yamuna Wijegunaratne paid an observation visit at the Naval Preschool at SLNS Tissa on 4th and 5th June 2016. On the following day (06) she made a similar visit to the Naval Preschool situated at SLNS Gemunu as well.

As yet another campaign of social service of the Navy Seva Vanitha Unit (NSVU), the President of NSVU, Mrs. Yamuna Wijegunaratne along with its members took time off to visit and spend time with the patients who receive treatment at ward No-7 at National Institute of Mental Health in Mulleriyawa.

Responding with goodwill and generosity, the officials of ASEAN Ladies Circle and Indonesian Women Association, handed over a stock of flood aids including dry ration, medicine, sanitary items and clothes to the President of Navy Seva Vanith Unit Mrs Yamuna Wijegunaratne at the premises of Indonesian Embassy today (25).

As part of this year's Vesak Celebrations the Navy Seva Vanitha Unit (NSVU) organised a series of events under the guidance of the President of NSVU, Mrs Yamuna Wijegunaratne Accordingly a Dansal of Sago and a display of Vesak Lanterns were held in front of Navy's Welfare Shop at SLNS Parakrama on 21st May 2016.

The inaugural meeting of the Officers’ Children’s Club which was recently established by the Navy Seva Vanitha Unit (NSVU), was held at the “Lighthouse Galley” in Colombo, on 7th May 2016.

The New Year Trade Fair, organized under the patronage of the President of the Navy Seva Vanitha Unit (NSVU), Mrs. Yamuna Wijegunaratne, commenced at SLNS Parakrama on 9th April 2016.
