The 12th Defence Services Wushu Championship was held at the Commander Parakrama Samaraweera Memorial Indoor Sports Complex, Welisara on 04th and 05th July 2023. In a remarkable display of skill and determination, the Navy men's and women's teams emerged victorious in the Wushu Championship.

The Inter-Command Women's Six-a-Side Softball Cricket Tournament 2023 was held at the Navy cricket ground, Welisara on 26th and 27th June 2023. The Chairman Sri Lanka Navy Cricket Committee, Rear Admiral Jalaj Ponnamperuma graced the final of the tournament as the Chief Guest.

The Navy athletes showcased their exceptional running skills, securing the runner-up positions in both the men's and women's half marathon at the 12th Defence Services Games. The athletics events of 12th Defence Services Games were held on 24th June 2023 at the Air Force grounds in Katunayake.

The women’s hockey team of the Sri Lanka Navy won the women’s championship in 12th Defence Services Hockey Tournament 2022/23. The tournament was held at the Sri Lanka Air Force Hockey Ground, Ekala on 23rd June 2023.

The Inter-command Table Tennis Tournament was held at the Commander Parakrama Samaraweera Memorial Indoor Sports Complex from 20th to 24th June 2023. Showcasing their exceptional table tennis skills, the men’s and women’s championship titles were won by the Western Naval Command. Meanwhile, the Northern Naval Command became runners up in both men’s and women’s categories.

In an exhilarating display of athleticism, the Inter-command Triathlon Championship unfolded at the Naval Dockyard and Sandy Bay beach on 18th June 2023. The event was graced by the Deputy Area Commander Eastern Naval Area, Commodore Mahesh De Silva. Showcasing the remarkable physical prowess and competitive spirit, the Training Command won both men’s and women’s overall team championships in the Inter-command Triathlon Championship.

Sri Lanka Navy gold medalists in international athletic meets – Woman Petty Officer Gayanthika Abeyrathne and Able Seaman SMASM Subasinghe, with their medals and awards, met with the Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera at the Navy Headquarters today (20th June 2023). Appreciative of their performances, which brought a lot of credit to the motherland, Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera, who is also the President of Sri Lanka Navy Sports Board, awarded cash prizes to both athletes and encouraged them to pursue their sporting career.

The Southern Zone emerged champions of the Commander of the Navy’s Cup limited over (50) cricket tournament. The final encounter of the tournament was held between the Southern and Northern Zone teams at the Welisara Cricket Ground on 09th June 2023. The occasion was graced by the Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera as the Chief Guest.

The swimming and water polo tournament of the 12th Defense Services Games was held at the swimming pool of SLNS Gemunu from 05th to 09th June 2023. In an impressive display of aquatic prowess, the Sri Lanka Navy women’s team won the swimming championship of the tournament. Meanwhile, the men’s team also secured the runner-up position.

The final of Navy Inter Command Cricket Champions 2023 was held at the Welisara Navy Cricket Ground on 04th May 2023. Commander Western Naval Area, Rear Admiral Suresh De Silva graced the final of the tournament, as the Chief Guest. After the final encounter of the tournament, the Western Naval Command has clinched the prestigious title of Inter-Command Cricket Champions.
