Navy clinches Masters’ Championship title at 71st Life Saving Games - 2022
Sri Lanka Navy lifesavers won the Masters’ Championship title at the 71st Life Saving Games - 2022 held on 23rd and 24th December 2022. The championship, held at Sri Lanka Police Aquatic Sports Pool and Mount Lavinia Beach, was organized by the Sri Lanka Life Saving Association.

Junior sailors’ welfare facilities further expanded in Northwestern Naval Command
At the directives of Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera, Commander Northwestern Naval Area, Rear Admiral Suresh De Silva declared open a new building at the Naval Detachment Anawasala on 23rd December 2022. The facility was made available with a view to expanding welfare facilities for junior sailors attached to SLNS Vijaya in the Northwestern Naval Command.

Commander of the Navy pays homage to places of worship in Anuradhapura and receives blessings
Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera paid homage to the Atamasthana (8 sacred locations) and several other places of worship in Anuradhapura on 24th December 2022. The visit turned out to be his maiden tour to Anuradhapura, after taking the office as 25th Commander of the Sri Lanka Navy. During the visit, Commander of the Navy was accompanied by Mrs Mala Lamahewa, the President of Navy Seva Vanitha Unit.

Navy passes festive message through Christmas Carols
Navy Christmas Carols 2022 on the theme " May your days be merry and bright and may all your Christmases be white" organized by the Navy Christian Council in collaboration with Navy Seva Vanitha Unit and Navy Band was held at the Admiral Somathilake Dissanayake Auditorium in Naval Headquarters on 23rd December 2022.

Commander of the Navy pays homage to Temple of Sacred Tooth Relic in Kandy
Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera today (23rd December 2022) paid homage to the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic in Kandy, invoking the blessings on future endeavours. He paid this visit to the temple, venerated by thousands of local and foreign devotees, after taking office as the 25th Commander of the Sri Lanka Navy. During this visit, Commander of the Navy was accompanied by Mrs Mala Lamahewa, the President of Navy Seva Vanitha Unit.

Navy gives more colour to Christmas Carol Concert at Presidential Secretariat
The Navy Band and the Cultural Troupe have been the cynosure of all eyes at the Christmas Carol Concert held at the Presidential Secretariat in Galle Face in the evening of 21st December 2022. The Carol Service organised by the Ministry of Tourism in partnership with the Tri- Forces and Police started on the evening of 18th December.

Deputy Chief of Staff and Commander Eastern Naval Area, Rear Admiral Jayantha Kularatne declared open a new Junior Sailors’ Mess at the Nicholson Cove in the Naval Dockyard, Trincomalee on 21st December 2022.

Navy’s stalls draw attention of many visiting the exhibition - ‘Combat 2022’
The Royal College, Colombo with the assistance of Tri-Services and Police organized the ‘Combat 2022’ Exhibition at the school premises on 20th December 2022. The prime motive of the exhibition was to popularise the scouting movement among school children. The exhibition stalls presented by the Navy featured arms and equipment used in the Navy as well as demonstrations presented by naval personnel.
