NSVU organizes series of religious events coinciding with Poson Poya Day
Following a notion of the President of Navy Seva Vanitha Unit (NSVU), Mrs Chandima Ulugetenne, a Sil programme was held at the Navy Headquarters on 14th June 2022. The event was held in parallel with the Poson Poya Day which marks the introduction of Buddhism to Sri Lanka by Arahat Mahinda Thera. At the invitation of the President of NSVU, Commander of the Navy attended the Poya Day Sil programme.

Navy assists conduct of annual feast mass at St. Anthony's Shrine, Kochchikade
The annual feast mass of St. Anthony’s Shrine, Kochchikade was held in the morning of 13th June under the auspices of His Eminence Malcolm Cardinal Ranjith, the Archbishop of Colombo. Sri Lanka Navy rendered its assistance for the conduct of this spiritual ceremony which was participated by a large number of Catholic devotees.

Capacity building training programme conducted by European Union begins at Navy Headquarters
Fourteen (14) Staff Officers engaging in operational duties representing the Navy Headquarters and the Naval Commands of Sri Lanka Navy embarked on a five-day capacity building training programme on European Union (EU) Critical Maritime Route Wider Indian Ocean (CRIMARIO) II platform, hosted under Indo-Pacific Regional Information Sharing (IORIS) programme from 06th to 10th June at the Lighthouse Galley, Colombo.

Navy contingent leaves the island for RIMPAC 2022
Sri Lanka Navy (SLN) contingent which is expected to take part in the Rim of the Pacific (RIMPAC) Exercise 2022, hosted by the US Pacific Fleet, left for Australia from the Bandaranaike International Airport this morning (04th June 2022) by a special flight arranged by Royal Australian Air Force. The SLN contingent comprises 50 naval personnel including both officers and sailors.

Two navy-built Reverse Osmosis plants opened in Aranthalawa and Galewela
Two (02) navy-built Reverse Osmosis plants at Aranthalawa International Buddhist Centre and Ihala Diggala Primary School in Galewela were vested with the public on 02nd and 03rd June 2022. The initiatives came to fruition as part of the Social Responsibility project of the Sri Lanka Navy.
