CEO of CIMA Corporate Strategies, Mr. Aubyn Hill made a presentation on “Transforming Individual Ability to Team Capacity” at the NHQ Wardroom on 10th June 2014.

As part of the Sri Lanka Navy’s community development and social responsibility project, the North Western Naval Command launched a mangrove planting project in accordance with the 2014 world environment day’s theme, “Raise your voice, Not the sea level’’, on 05th June 2014 under the patronage of Commander North Western Naval Area, Rear Admiral Dayananda Nanayakkara.

Three Russian naval ships arrived at the Port of Colombo on a goodwill visit on 06th June 2014. The ships are “Marshal Shaposhnikov”, “Irkut” and “Alatau” belonging to the Pacific Fleet of the Russian Navy. They were welcomed by the Sri Lanka Navy in accordance with naval traditions on their arrival.

Newly appointed Defence Attaché of Embassy of the Russian Federation in Sri Lanka, Colonel Drritry A. Mikhaylovskiy paid a courtesy call on Commander of the Sri Lanka Navy, Vice Admiral Jayanath Colombage at the Naval Headquarters in Colombo on 05th June 2014.

Stafford Motors Company (Pvt) Ltd. donated two boat engines to the Navy for flood relief operations. They were handed over to Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Jayanath Colombage by MD/CEO of the company, Dr. Kalinga Kaluperuma at the Naval Headquarters on 04th June 2014.

Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Jayanath Colombage and Australian High Commissioner to Sri Lanka, Her Excellency Robyn Mudie signed the deed of gift of the second Australian Bay Class patrol boat at the Naval Headquarters on 03rd June 2014.

Commander of the Navy Vice Admiral Jayanath Colombage conveyed his best wishes to the promising marathon runner of the Sri Lanka Navy, Leading Seaman HMSHK Wijekoon Banda, who is scheduled to take part in the Gold Coast 100 kilometer Road Race to be held in Australia in June 2014.

The inter-command tennis tournament of the Sri Lanka Navy was held at the SLN Dockyard in Trincomalee from 26th May to 30th May 2014.

As part of the Sri Lanka Navy’s community development and social responsibility project, the North Western Naval Command conducted two field health clinics on 25th and 28th May 2014 in parallel with 5th anniversary of SLNS Barana.

The Navy recorded an impressive performance at the Indian Division Cup Sailing Regatta 2014 held at the Bolgoda Lake on 24th May 2014.
