Navy takes over administration authority of National Rifle Association of Sri Lanka for year 2023 to 2025
The administration authority of the National Rifle Association of Sri Lanka'(NRASL), held by the Sri Lanka Army, was taken over by the Sri Lanka Navy for the forthcoming 2 -year term of 2023 to 2025 at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) held on 18th May 2023 at Light House Galley, Colombo.

Navy clinch women’s championship at Nippon Paint Kabaddi Championship – 2023
The Nippon Paint Super League Championship – 2023 worked off on the 29th and 30th of April at the Piliyandala Somaweera Chandrasiri Ground. The women’s Kabaddi team of the Navy put up a spectacular performance in the final and won the championship title, defeating the Army.

The Sri Lanka Navy successfully hosted the ‘Navy Cup Sailing Regatta - 2023’ off Galle Face on 22nd and 23rd April 2023. The event was graced by Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera, as the Chief Guest.

Navy women's beach volleyball team secures runners-up spot in Defense Services Games
The Sri Lanka Navy women's beach volleyball team emerged as the runners-up in the Beach Volleyball Tournament of 12th Defense Services Games 2022/23. The tournament was held on 20th and 21st April 2023 at the Browns Beach, Negombo.

Navy athletes won laurels at 12th Defence Services Games receive high praise from Commander of the Navy
The Navy athletes who won championship titles in various sports categories at the 12th Defence Services Games were felicitated by the Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera today (20th April 2023). The achievers met with Commander of the Navy at the Commander Parakrama Samaraweera Memorial Indoor Sports Complex in Welisara where Commander of the Navy applauded the sporting talents of the athletes.

Commander of the Navy felicitates runners-up of 4th CISM World Military Beach Volleyball Women's Championship
The Sri Lanka Navy on 17th February 2023 emerged as the runners-up in the 4th CISM World Military Beach Volleyball Women's Championship, hosted by Sri Lanka. Representing the Sri Lanka Navy, Woman Ordinary Seaman MGD Bandara and Woman Ordinary Seaman AKT Lakshani competed in some intense matches and won the runners-up title. Appreciative of their performances, Commander of the Navy Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera, who is also the President of the Navy Sports Board, presented cash prizes (Rs. 75,000 each) to the 02 players at the Navy Headquarters today (06th April).

In a stunning display of marksmanship, the Navy emerged overall champions in the 07th Open Shooting Championship held at the Small-Bore Firing Range Complex of Welisara from 29th March to 04th April 2023.

12th Defence Services Triathlon Championship concludes in Trincomalee
The 12th Defence Services Triathlon Championship -2023 hosted by the Sri Lanka Navy was successfully held in the Thiriyaya sea area and Kuchchaweli town on 04th April 2023. The Sri Lanka Navy athletes put in strong performances in their events and emerged runners up in the championship. The event was held under the patronage of Commander Eastern Naval Area and Commandant Volunteer Naval Force Rear Admiral Dammika Kumara.

The 12th Defence Services Golf Tournament – 2023, hosted by the Sri Lanka Navy, was held on 01st and 02nd April 2023 at the Eagles' Golf Links China Bay, Trincomalee. The Navy comprising of some of the finest golfers put up a valiant effort and won the runner-up title.

Navy oarsmen and women make a splash at National Rowing Championship - 2023
The Navy rowing teams made a big splash at the National Rowing Championship in 2023, with both the men's and women's teams putting in impressive performances. Thus, the title of Intermediate category and runner-up slot in the Senior category were won by male and female rowing athletes of the Navy. The 38th National Rowing Championship – 2023 hosted by the Amateur Rowing Association of Sri Lanka (ARASL) was held at Diyawanna Rowing Centre, Battaramulla from 29th March to 01st April 2023.
