The Indian Ocean Region's Senior Drug Enforcement Officials' Meeting which was jointly organized by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) and the Ministry of Defence got underway at the Taj Samudra Hotel in Colombo on 13th October 2015.

Sri Lanka Navy assisted the Sri Lanka Coast Guard to arrest nineteen Indian fishermen along with two Indian fishing trawlers poaching in Sri Lankan waters East of Point Pedro and East of Vettalakerni on 09th October 2015.

The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces His Excellency the President Maithripala Sirisena conferred the Vishista Seva Vibhushana medal on thirty-two (32) senior officers that included the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Chrishantha De Silva, the Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne and the Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Gagan Bulathsinghala at a ceremony held at the Presidential Secretariat on 08th October 2015.

The 25th International Maritime Boundary Line (IMBL) meeting between the representatives of Navies and Coast Guards of Sri Lanka and India was held onboard Indian Naval Ship Savitri at the Indo-Sri Lanka Maritime Boundary Line off Kankasanthurai on 7th October 2015.
