Two Japanese naval ships, "JS Makinami (DD-112)" and "JS Suzunami (DD-114)", which are en route for counter piracy operations off Somalia and the Gulf of Aden, arrived at the Port of Colombo on a goodwill visit on 10th November 2015.

Navy renders assistance in electrification of Analativu Island
Sri Lanka Navy's Landing Craft, L 820 and L 821, attached to the Northern Naval Command, rendered assistance to transport lamp posts, transformers and other equipment to Analativu island at a request made by the Ceylon Electricity Board.

Four local fishermen arrested for illegal fishing
Naval personnel attached to SLNS Theraputta in Silawathura deployed on routine patrol arrested 4 local fishermen along with a Fiber Glass Dinghy, 175 kilograms of sea cucumber and 4 diving face masks whilst engaged in fishing without permit in the seas between Kallaru and Kondachchikuda on 05th November 2015.
