The Navy men’s and women’s teams became the runners up in tug of war at the 12^th Defence Services Games. The tug of war tournament was held at the Air Force grounds in Katunayake on 26^th and 28^th October 2022 and the final encounter was held between the men’s and women’s teams of the Army and Navy.

The 12^th Defence Services Games was officially declared open by the Secretary of Defence, General Kamal Gunaratne (Retd) at the new indoor stadium of Panagoda Army camp on 19^th October 2022. The ceremony, which marked the beginning of several weeks of competitive sportsmanship among tri-services, was attended by Commander of the Navy Vice Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenne.

The 08th Carrom World Championship -2022, organized by International Carrom Federation (ICF), was held in Langkawi, Malaysia from 03rd to 07th October. Representing Sri Lanka at the world stage, Navy’s Able Seaman Nishantha Fernando and Woman Able Seaman Joseph Roshita won silver and bronze medals respectively.

Navy Sports Club (SC) won the ‘Plate’ Championship of Inter-Club Rugby 7s – 2022 held at the Racecourse ground on 08th and 09th October 2022. Accordingly, Navy SC defeated Army SC 26-10, playing some outstanding sevens rugby.

The Intermediate Boxing Meet 2022, organized by Boxing Association of Sri Lanka (BASL) was held at Royal MAS Arena from 05th to 08th October 2022. The Navy boxers showcased note worthy performances through the tournament by winning 02 gold medals, 02 silver medals and 03 bronze medals.

The Inter-command Sailing Competition – 2022 was successfully held in the inner harbour of Trincomalee from 04th to 07th October 2022, handing the men’s title to the Afloat Command and women’s championship to the Training Command.

Sri Lanka Navy golfers made noteworthy performances and bagged several awards in the inaugural Monsoon Cup Golf Tournament 2022. The tournament organized by the Sri Lanka Air Force, concluded at Eagle Golf Link, China Bay in Trincomalee on 01st October 2022.

Sri Lanka Navy athlete Women Able Seaman Nisansala Sandamali won a silver medal at 3^rd Mount Everest International Open Taekwondo Championships 2022, held in Pokhara Nepal.

The Inter-command Squash Championship was held at the squash court in the Eastern Naval Command from 14^th to 17^th September 2022. As the Southern Naval Command won the title of tournament, the Afloat Command and North Central Naval Command emerged as joint-runners-up.

The Inter-command Tennis Tournament 2022 of the Sri Lanka Navy was held at the Eastern Naval Command Tennis Court from 05th to 10th September 2022. Recording noteworthy performances throughout the tournament both the Western and North Central Commands emerged as joint-champs and the Southern Naval Command won the runner-up title of the Inter-command Tennis Tournament 2022.
