Navy renders assistance to clear blockages under Wakwella and Dodamgoda Bridges
The Navy is continuously supporting in the removal of obstructions at old narrow bridges of Dodangoda and Wakwella over Gin Ganga, caused by the heavy rainfall. Incidentally, naval personnel yet again sprang into action to remove debris collected under the Dodamgoda and Wakwella Bridges in Galle and cleared obstructions to the flow of the Gin Ganga at those locations.

In recognition of the notable performances carried out by a group of naval personnel who made valiant efforts to rescue the life of severely injured third engineer of fire-stricken crude oil tanker, MT New Diamond, Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenne presented Letters of Commendation to them at the Navy Headquarters.

75 senior and 60 junior sailors granted interest free loans
Sri Lanka Navy granted an interest free loan worth Rs. 500,000 each to 75 senior sailors and Rs. 200,000 each to 60 junior sailors for the first time today (21st September 2020).
