An alms giving for the third month commemoration of the victims of Easter Sunday terror attack, was held at the Ministry of Defence premises, on 21^st July 2019.

The President of the Navy SevaVanitha Unit (NSVU), Mrs. Arundathie Udithamala Jayaneththi met with the new Chairperson of the SevaVanitha Unit of the Ministry of Defence (MoD SVU) Mrs. Soniya Kottegoda at the SVU office in the Ministry on 28^th June 2019.

According to a concept of the President of Navy Seva Vanitha Unit Mrs. Arundathie Udithamala Jayaneththi, a medical clinic was conducted at the Naval General Hospital (Colombo) Complex in Welisara, on 13^th June 2019.

According to a concept of the Commander of the Navy and under the guidance of President Navy Seva Vanitha Unit, the executive committee of the NSVU has approved the construction of a new house

In view of celebrating the Vesak Poya Day, a Dharma Deshana programme followed by an alms giving was held at the Admiral Somathilaka Dissanayaka auditorium in Naval Headquarters on 18^th May 2019.

A function to bid farewell to the former Vice President of the Navy Seva Vanitha Unit (NSVU), Mrs. Champi Ranasinghe, was held on a grand note, under the patronage of the incumbent President, Mrs. Arundathi Udithamala Jayaneththi at the Malima Club House in Uswetakeiyawa on 11^th May.

The New Year Fair (‘Avurudu Pola’) - 2019 organized under the directives of the President of Navy Seva Vanitha Unit (NSVU) Mrs. JK Arundathie Udithamala Jayanetti was held on a successful note this year as well, at the premises of SLNS Gemunu on 10^th April.

As another community welfare effort of Navy Seva Vanitha Unit, a wheel chair was donated to the child with special needs of a sailor, at the NSVU office in Naval Headquarters, on 28^th March 2019.

The annual sports meet of the Naval Preschool ‘Gemunu’ was held on a colourful note, under the directives of the honourable President of the Navy Seva Vanitha Unit (NSVU) and with the supervision of Commander Western Naval Area and his madam, at the sports ground of SLNS Gemunu on 15^th March.

As part of the International Women’s Day which fell on 08^th March, the Navy Seva Vanith Unit (NSVU), under the able guidance of its President, Mrs. JK Arundathi Udithamala Jayaneththi, had organized the popular 'Kandula' programme, conducted by Brother Charles Thomas.
